SIPPs - Self-Invested Personal Pensions
We manage bespoke Self-Invested Personal Pension portfolios. Together, we will discuss your individual circumstances, probably in conjunction with your other advisors or pension trustees. This review will assess your anticipated retirement date, appetite for investment risk, likely contributions to your SIPP and your future income requirement. Following this, we will construct a suitable, multi-asset portfolio for your SIPP.
SIPPs provide a wide investment choice and generally appeal to those who wish to take control, assuming responsibility for their pension arrangements. Falling annuity rates have made it more important than ever to maintain flexibility and sustain investment performance over the longer term. The investment returns provided by many pensions have been poor, with pension investors often uncertain about what assets they own and the basis upon which their investment return is awarded.
The strategies required to manage a SIPP portfolio will vary over its life. The “build up” phase, when retirement is a long way off, may require a wealth creation strategy with more appetite for risk given the long-term nature of the investment. Approaching retirement, a portfolio may need to be realigned as the prospect of income withdrawal warrants a more defensive strategy. Once in income drawdown, stability of investment returns may be paramount. The composition of SIPP portfolios managed by us is adapted in a controlled yet flexible way in order to accommodate all these variations. Our method of portfolio construction is ideally suited to managing the changing needs of SIPP portfolios over time. At each stage, our “building block” approach ensures that each SIPP portfolio benefits from the best ideas generated by our investment style and process.
